What is an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships offer you the chance to earn while you learn – that means you are employed but are given time during the working week to work with a training provider to achieve a vocational qualification that will help you to do your job.
Apprenticeships are individually tailored to your needs, so as well as your vocational qualification, your training provider and employer will work with you to develop a bespoke training plan which will make sure you have all the skills you need to progress in your career. This could include essential skills in Maths, English and ICT and/or specialist skills that are required in your chosen career.
Apprenticeships normally take between two and four years to complete and we will cover the cost of your apprenticeship training.
Why would I want to be a Civil Service apprentice?

As a Civil Service Apprentice you will have access to:

In addition, we have great terms and conditions, including:
- An annual leave allowance of 25 days, increasing to 30 days after fiveyears plus 12 days public and privilege holidays;
- Flexi time schemes operate in most of our offices subject to business need. These offer flexibility around working times, usually between the hours of 8am and 6pm; and
