SALARY: £74,912 - £84,122

LOCATION: 9 Lanyon Place, Townparks, Belfast, BT1 3LP. To build on the response to the Covid-19 pandemic and prepare for the future, a hybrid style of work which blends working from home (and remotely) with working in the office will be in the context of the emerging NICS ‘New Ways of Working’ policy.

The community, voluntary and charitable sectors are vital to a thriving society and the Department is committed to recognising and promoting the work of the sectors and the contribution they make to the long term economic, social and environmental wellbeing of NI.

The Department, through VCD, is the strategic partner within government for these sectors, seeking to enable a vibrant and more sustainable voluntary and community sector through a range of programmes and initiatives.  In doing so it collaborates with key partners in developing solutions to the challenges faced through supporting people, building communities and shaping places. The relationship between VCD and the sector is based on integrity, trust and respect, and the Director has a key leadership role in developing this.

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop the organisation at a time of significant change. It will require considerable leadership and management skills, with a particular focus on the management of change and in delivering outcomes through successful collaboration and partnership. 

This post may be filled by secondment of the successful candidate from their current employer.
