SALARY: £48,226 - £52,857 (under review)

LOCATION: AFBI Crossnacreevy, 50 Houston Road, Crossnacreevy, Belfast

An exciting opportunity is currently available for an enthusiastic scientist with internationally recognised expertise in the area of plant biology. AFBI has a key role in supporting agri-food production in Northern Ireland and with plants playing an important role in the supply chain, AFBI is seeking to recruit a Principal Scientific Officer to lead on plant biology research in collaboration with plant, animal and environmental scientists across the Institute. The post holder will also be the Chief Seed Testing Officer and will manage the Official Seed Testing Service in Northern Ireland, which is based in AFBI, Crossnacreevy, as well as its associated resources and staff. This is an important Principal Investigator position within AFBI and will play an important role in delivering future research and resilience for the NI Agri-Food industry.
