Higher Scientific Officer Virus Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory

SALARY: £30,149 - £31,760 (under review)

LOCATION: AFBI VSD, Stormont Co. Antrim BT4 3SD

Please be advised that there has been an amendment to eligibility criterion 2 for this competition. The deadline has also been extended to 28th June 2019.

It is anticipated that the work will be to manage all aspects of the laboratory molecular work associated with the statutory testing for emergency response and associated commercial work for virus molecular diagnostics.  The post-holder will also be required to have a role in emergency planning and emergency response molecular virology testing in preparedness for a major viral epizootic disease outbreak. This will involve close collaboration with DAERA, stakeholders and national and international reference laboratories to ensure that the most appropriate technologies and capabilities are in place to support Northern Ireland agriculture.
