Principal Scientific Officer - Immunology

DEPARTMENT: Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute Northern Ireland (AFBI)

SALARY: £47,749 - £52,334

LOCATION: AFBI Stormont, Belfast

This position offers the opportunity to join a well-established and multi-disciplinary scientific group and to lead the Immunology work area within the Bacteriology Branch. It is anticipated that the work will initially focus on current programmes relating to the immunology and pathogenesis of important mycobacterial diseases of cattle (bovine tuberculosis and bovine paratuberculosis). The post holder will also be expected to collaborate productively with researchers in the Virology Branch and across other Branches, who have similar immunology interests, and to build upon linkages with other academic groups and centres of excellence.

Further appointments may be made from this competition should AFBI positions become vacant which have similar duties and responsibilities.
