Higher Scientific Officer (HSO) – Geospatial Modeller

SALARY: £32,008 - £33,128

LOCATION: AFBI Headquarters, Newforge Lane, Belfast, BT9 5PX

This post offers an exciting opportunity for a scientist skilled and experienced in GIS and geospatial modelling to work within Agri-Environment Branch, AFBI. The post holder will be an integral team member in the geospatial mapping component of DAERA’s planned Soil Nutrient Health Scheme (SNHS) which will deliver LiDAR-based mapping of hydrological connectivity and soil characteristics across all farmed land in Northern Ireland. This ambitious project has the potential to improve both agricultural and environmental sustainability and will contribute to the success of the agri-food industry in Northern Ireland and beyond.
