We are pleased to hear you’re interested in these roles within the Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS). Staff Officer and Deputy Principal roles are demanding but rewarding too. As a middle manager in the NICS you will play an important part in delivering our business objectives and contributing to the success of our overarching purpose. This includes many major areas of life here: health and education, economic success and peaceful communities.

The final phase of the Deputy Principal and Staff Officer competitions are now in the process of being arranged for October and November 2021.

Invites for those candidates continuing in the DP competition have now been issued and invites for the Staff Officer assessments will issue in due course. Measures continue to be in place to mitigate against the contamination or spread of Covid-19 within the assessment centres.
